iTuscia APP allows the user to have a complete trip to discover Tuscia, its history, beauties and signs that culture has left through time. Traveler can use a virtual guide and interactive open map discovering suggested itineraries, several places and Points of Interest (POI).
The first great Tuscia’s settlers, the Etruscans, have profoundly marked the territory with their settlements and the roads carved in the tuff (even called “tagliate”). The first big city founded was Tarquinia, a big trade and mercantile center. Tuscia’s name and boundaries were defined by Romans who conquered the territory held from Etruscans (even named Tusci); through the centuries Tuscia attained a great importance due to the affirmation of the “Via Francigena” which drove the pilgrims to Rome.
iTuscia APP allows the travelers to discover whole the territory trough three itineraries and several places and Points of Interest (POI) artistic, cultural and historical one’s located in Tuscia Area from Caprarola to Viterbo and over, Bolsena, Montefiascone, Nepi, Ronciglione etc.
iTuscia APP uses an interactive map indentifying POI near by the position of the traveler or by a text research. Inside iTuscia APP is even included “drive me to” function (available in each factsheet ). For each itinerary, place, POI or step, the traveler can find a complete factsheet and several pictures, farther the APP allows the traveller to go “in deep” and to have additional multimedia informations (text, photos and videos) thanks to the link to Futouring world.
iTuscia APP is an application iPhone 3gs, iPhone 4 and 4s, iPod Touch, iPad, up to iOS 5.1 versions compliant. To a better functionality the system requires GPS with geolocation and 3G function.
The application has been developed as part of the intervention "La Tuscia Farnese", one of the projects under the Technology District for Arts and Culture (DTC). Born out of a Framework Programme Agreement (FPA) signed by the Lazio Region, MIUR, MiSE and MIBAC, the district is managed by Filas, regional company dedicated to supporting the processes of development and innovation of the business of the territory.
